Crown Range Residence

Set within the dramatic terrain of the Crown Ranges, New Zealand, this contemporary high end residence is conceived as a sculptural intervention in the landscape. Rather than sitting upon the site, the architecture is imagined as something carved from it, a series of grounded forms shaped by terrain, light and horizon.

The design explores the relationship between mass and void, where sculptural openings define the spaces, frame the surrounding views and shape the experience of moving through the home. Internal rooms are formed through moments of compression and release, with curved volumes, circular voids and expansive glazing creating a residence that feels both monumental and intimate.

Currently in concept design, the project seeks to create a home that is deeply embedded in place, refined, atmospheric and quietly dramatic, with architecture and landscape held in constant dialogue.
