Cadrona Residence

Located in the Cardrona Valley, New Zealand, this high end single residence is currently in concept design and is conceived as a home shaped by its landscape. The architecture uses the terrain as both shelter and language, embedding itself into the site rather than standing apart from it.

Raw, earthy materials form the foundation of the design, allowing the textures, tones and quiet strength of the valley to move through the architecture. Concrete, stone, timber and glass are composed with restraint, creating spaces that feel grounded, protected and deeply connected to the surrounding alpine environment.

The project explores a refined relationship between dwelling and land, a residence where the site is not simply a backdrop, but an active part of the spatial experience.
